The Department of Community Medicine aims at training undergraduate medical students in providing comprehensive (preventive, promotive, curative and rehabilitative) health care services to the community, which empowers them to work in primary care settings. Department educates the students regarding public health scenario across the globe as part of the program and plans to undertake implementation, monitoring and evaluation of various national health programmers and activities in the Rural and Urban field practice areas. It helps the students in delivery of quality health care services to the community through primary health care approach and to become first contact physicians.
